Italian Regions/ Le Regioni
The Republic of Italy, as shown on the map below, is divided into 20 regions (Regioni) which are further divided into 103 provinces (Province). Within the Province themselves one may find many Municipalities (Comuni).
The records of individuals are kept at the Comune level while property records are kept traditionally in hard copy form at the Province level. However, a centralized, searchable data base exists on a national scale for all Italian properties and their relative property owners.
