Eredi legittimi   In the absence of a will, Italian law imposes the heir apparent
Legittimario   Forced heir i.e., heir whose right to an inheritance is indefeasible in law if he/she survives the legal ancestor. There can be a devisee or a legatee. See below under legatari and in Real Estate Section above under Property and Personal items
Legittima   A share of a decedent's estate that is assigned by law to a specific relative irrespective the existance or the content of the will.
In sostituzione della legittima   In substitution for a quota (share) in the estate
Legatario del residuo di beni mobili o immobili   Residual legatee (personal items bequeathed) or real estate
